Cal Smith heads to the Smokies
The club can this evening confirm that popular forward Calum Smith has joined Arbroath FC in a loan deal lasting until the end of the season.
Smith has been a standout player for the ‘Gers this season, winning the plaudits of fans in a number of Social Media Man of the Match-winning performances for his efforts in linking defence with attack.
In joining Dick Campbell’s men, Calum will also join up with former ‘Gers Jack Hamilton, David Gold and Michael McKenna at Gayfield Park, and will be hoping to make a similarly positive contribution as that trio during his spell in Angus.
Currently sat 9th in the Scottish Championship, Calum will be hoping to assist the Lichties in escaping a relegation battle and with Arbroath having found better form since the turn of the year, will fancy their chances of doing so with the club also sat only 8 points away from the promotion play-offs.
All at the club would like to wish Calum the best of luck for his loan spell and wish Arbroath all the best for the remainder of the season.
