Preview: Montrose v Berwick Rangers – SPFL Ladbrokes League Two

The curtain comes down on the ‘Gers’ Scottish Lesgue Two season at Links Park this afternoon, where John Coughlin says his players are determined to finish on a high.

“It’d be the perfect way to end the season if we could go there and get the win in front of, what I believe will be a good travelling support,” said the manager. “It’s important we continue the good work that we’ve been doing and we’ll be heading there with the strongest team possible as we look to win the match.

“I wouldn’t allow the players to be on ‘holiday mode’ so that’s certainly not being transmitted to them at training and if we can finish on a high, it’s sure to give us some momentum going into next season.”

Berwick Rangers Team News:

It’s a case of two out, one in for Berwick ahead of the trip to Montrose.

Callum Crane returns from his one-match suspension following his sending off at Arbroath two weeks ago, but Jordan McGregor and Michael McKenna are both out for the same reason – McGregor after his red card at East Fife last week and McKenna, who picked up his 16th booking of the season in last week’s match.

Montrose Team News:

Despite a heavily disappoining season for the Angus teams, Montrose manager Paul Hegarty declared to the Montrose Review newspaper this week that fans should be proud of the efforts of the Angus clubs.

With Forfar Athletic relegated last weekend, Hegarty admitted: “There is camaraderie there and it’s unique. I definitely see it. Even when I played at Dundee United, you were very welcome at the Angus clubs.

“It doesn’t happen too often in the football world and we should be happy and proud of the group of clubs we’ve got.”

The match will be Montrose midfielder Adrian Mallagaray’s final match in the blue of the Mo’, as he returns to Spain in the Summer.
