Malks adds Graeme Smith for end of season competitions

Manager Stuart Malcolm has this evening moved to add experienced goalkeeper Graeme Smith to his playing squad, ahead of tomorrow’s FC United to Prevent Suicide Lowland League Cup quarter-final fixture away at East Kilbride.

Smith broke into regular senior football when he played 15 games in half a season at Ayr United, before amassing well over 150 appearances at Brechin City between 2013 and 2018. That summer, Graeme joined Stenhousemuir where he has gone on to make north of 60 more SPFL appearances.

League Cup rules dictate that a signed goalkeeper must feature in tomorrow’s fixture, and with Ali Adams out injured and Andy McNeil serving a suspension, Smith’s arrival is a very timely one.

The club would like to thank all at Stenhousemuir Football Club, along with club secretary Dennis McCleary, for their incredible work in getting the deal over the line ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s fixture.

One player who won’t feature tomorrow is Conrad Balatoni, who has returned to Clyde after the league season was completed last weekend. If Berwick are to claim victory at K-Park tomorrow, they’ll be rewarded with a semi-final clash against one of Gala Fairydean Rovers or Broomhill at Shielfield Park, in a fixture that’d be played on Saturday 7th May.
