‘Gers retain another three players

The club are delighted to confirm that four more players have put pen to paper on contract extensions, with no less than 10 players now committed to playing for Berwick Rangers in season 2021/22.

Lewis Barr, Jack Wright and Dougie Horne are the latest to agree renewed terms and join Jordan Sinclair, David Ferguson, Jack Cook, Craig Reid and John Ward in extending their deals with the club.

New addition Ciaran Heeps and Lewis Allan, who signed a 2-year deal when joining the club in 2020, round off the count into double figures.

Like the first quartet announced last week, Lewis Barr and Jack Wright have all penned two-year deals with the club while Dougie Horne has signed a deal lasting until Summer 2022.

Lewis Barr is sponsored by The Curfew Micropub (Berwick-upon-Tweed) and picked up five Player of the Year awards during the club’s inaugural Lowland League campaign. Hampered by injury this term, the tireless midfielder will be looking to regain full fitness and form on his return to action.

Jack Wright is sponsored by the Smoove & Turrell Berwick Fan Club (led by supporter Ian Beresford, and is widely regarded as one of the club’s most exciting players. The undisputed leader of running stats on a matchday, Wright’s quality has been clear to see this season as the youngster continues to establish and impose himself at this level.

Dougie Horne is sponsored by St Andrews Berwick Rangers Supporters (led by supporter David Letham), and immediately secured the number one jersey. Impressing with his aerial dominance, Horne has added a calm to a ‘Gers defence that has conceded as many goals as 2nd placed BSC Glasgow.

The club looks forward to welcoming players and fans back to Shielfield Park and will continue to update supporters on squad-building efforts as and when news breaks.
