Berwick Rangers has this morning launched an Alternative Home-Schooling Workbook for children packed full of fun activities testing a range of key skills.
As restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic continue, with schools not set to reopen until June 1 at the earliest, this 15-page workbook, it is hoped, will offer parents a fun addition to the school curriculum for their children.
The workbook is downloadable by clicking HERE and has also been sent out to every school in the local area, with children encouraged to participate in a range of activities that will test their writing skills, creative flair and also their general football knowledge.
Specifically, the workbook includes the following activities:
- A warm-up Word Search
- Design a new club badge
- Design a new home & away kit
- Create a new club mascot
- Pick your Dream Team
- Design a new club flag
- Write a letter to an elderly relative or friend not seen since restrictions were enforced
- A football quiz (parental help may be needed for this!)
Speaking about the launch of the Alternative Home-Schooling Workbook, a first for Berwick Rangers Football Club, Director Dave Buglass said: “We understand how tricky it must be for parents at the moment to juggle parenthood, home-schooling and also their own jobs and we’ve been thinking over the past couple of weeks about what ways we could try and help.
“The result was this workbook, which we feel is fun and educational but also relatable in that the activities the kids will be completing are linked to their local football club.
“These kids are potential future supporters of the club and, through engaging with them on this workbook, hopefully we will see an upsurge in parents bringing their kids to Shielfield Park to support the ‘Gers again when it is safe to do so.”
