Berwick leave Ainslie Park empty handed

An early goal from an Ashley Grimes free kick proved to be the decisive moment of yesterday’s game as Edinburgh City collected their first three points of the season and keeper McRorie was hardly called on to make a save in the remainder of the game as Berwick battled unsuccessfully for an equaliser.

The defeat drops us to eighth on an afternoon which saw leaders Stirling Albion dropping points for the first time this season in a surprise home defeat by Clyde. Next week’s opponents Elgin City lost at home to Annan and remain one point above us in the table on seven points.

Travelling fans voted Marcus Godinho Social Media Man of the Match for a second week running.
A full match report will be published on the Supporters Trust website at www.berwickrangers.org later today.

The next action at Shielfield is the Under 20 team facing Forfar Athletic on Monday evening in the SPFL Development League East with a 7.45 pm kick off and on Saturday 16th September Elgin City will be making the long trip down for a Ladbrokes SPFL Division 2 encounter kicking off at 3pm.
