Trio Pen New Deals

Youngsters Barry Hogg, Calum Helm and Euan Bauld have all put pen to paper on one-year contract extensions after agreeing terms with John Coughlin.

The trio become the first players to secure their futures since ‘Gers boss Coughlin went full-time.

Central midfielder Hogg has featured prominently for the Development team throughout this season, captaining the side on more than one occasion. The young 19 year old also had a brief stint in the first-team under former boss Colin Cameron.

More recently, Barry has also been picking up first-team football with Dunbar United, where he is currently on loan.

Both Calum and Euan meanwhile have both missed the entire through injury. Forward Calum suffered a serious knee injury during a pre-season match at Shielfield in 2015 before later aggravating the issue when stepping up his comeback.

Euan meanwhile has struggled with back issues – but earned the plaudits of fans earlier in the campaign when it was revealed he’d refused to take a wage during his time on the sidelines.

All three youngsters will now earn the chance to impress boss John Coughlin, who clearly has one eye on developing for the future – as he admitted in a tell-all interview with the official site earlier in the week.

Interviews with both Barry Hogg and Euan Bauld will follow on the club’s official website later on today.
