Scobbie extends Shielfield stay

Defender Tam Scobbie has penned a contract extension at Shielfield Park, keeping him at the club until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Scobbie, 33, signed for the ‘Gers on August 30 and has made nine appearances to date, starting eight times and coming on as a substitute in one of those games. In total, Scobbie has played 803 minutes and has been part of the back four in two clean sheets.

At the start of his career, Scobbie spent close to a decade in the Scottish Premier League with both Falkirk and St Johnstone.

In 2017, the defender moved on to Dundee United – then in the Scottish Championship – and played frequently in his first season before being loaned out to Partick Thistle in the first half of the 2018/19 campaign and then Brechin City in the second half of the same season.

Released by The Tangerines in the summer of 2019, Scobbie then spent two seasons at Kelty Hearts, helping the club in their quest to gain promotion to the SPFL.
