Rennie set to join in loan deal
Berwick Rangers have today moved to add striker Martin Rennie to their ranks, subject to SFA approval, with the 28 year-old striker set to arrive on loan.
The arrival of the forward will add depth and quality to the ‘Gers, with Martin having enjoyed two spells at his parent club Montrose. In his first spell at Links Park, Rennie impressed with 18 goals in 55 games for The Gable Endies, but has found regular game time harder to come by having returned to the Trose after a brief spell with League of Ireland Premier League side, St Patrick’s Athletic. The striker’s first experience of SPFL football came after Montrose won the race to sign him after an eye-catching spell with Lochgelly Albert.
A strong and determined forward, Martin will now be looking to secure more regular football in Stuart Malcolm’s side and find a goalscoring rhythm again, which will be of particular use for the Borderers while other options around the squad continue to get back to 100% fitness following injury and illness.
All at the club would like to welcome Martin to the squad, and look forward to welcoming him to Shielfield Park as a ‘Ger for the first time in the near future.
