Match Preview : Livingston v Berwick Rangers – Betfred Cup

Robbie Horn and the boys face their second Premiership test of the week as they travel to Linlithgow Rose’s Prestonfield ground to play Livingston FC for a 3pm kick off on Saturday.

This match is the final game of Group F and pits the bottom side against the current group leaders, with Kenny Miller’s Livingston having taken 8 points from the first 3 Betfred Cup matches. Whatever the outcome tomorrow Berwick are unable to progress to the next round.

Livingston will be looking for 3 points at home to confirm passage to the next round as group winners.

Berwick News

The ‘Gers will be looking to end a disappointing group stage on a high with their first competitive goal of the season. This match will be the final preparation before the League Two campaign starts off on 4th August.

New signing Ross Brown goes straight into the squad and is expected to make his debut. Brown should make his first ‘Gers appearance against one of his former clubs and is a player that manager Robbie Horn has long admired.

Livingston News

Experienced Scotland and Glasgow Rangers striker Kenny Miller took the player/manager role at Livingston in the summer and has been adding more experience to the squad as they look to move up the Premiership table in 2018/19.

Miller himself netted the winning goal in the 1-0 home victory over Annan Athletic last weekend to put them top of Group F.

Admission

Tickets for this game are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. We remind any travelling supporters that should this match be drawn a penalty shoot out will be played for a bonus point.

Officials

Steven Kirkland is the referee tomorrow. He will be assisted by Frank Connor and David McKniff.

We wish any supporters making the game a safe journey and that they witness the first Berwick goal of the 2018/19 season. Let’s end Group F strongly and look forward to the forthcoming league campaign.

Come on the ‘Gers!
