Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Stenhousemuir FC – Ladbrokes League Two

Robbie Horn and the boys return to Shielfield Park tomorrow night for an evening encounter with Stenhousemuir, kicking off at 7.45pm.

The ‘Gers will look to continue a recent run of three games undefeated and gain the victory that recent endeavours have deserved.

Strangely, considering it is early April, this is the first home league game between the sides in Berwick this season. This game has been moved, due to weather, on a couple of occasions and there will be another clash at Shielfield before 2017/18 ends.

Stenhousemuir have won both games Ochilview Park comfortably this season, with an aggregate total of 7-0 for the Warriors.

Berwick News

Robbie will be hoping that everyone recovers well from the weekend and is ready to go again. Gary Phillips and Ouzy See will both be pushing for recalls to the starting 11.

This is the first of two home games this week as Berwick look for a strong end to the campaign. Jamie Todd continued his impressive adaptation to league football with a commanding display at the weekend.

Stenhousemuir News

Brown Ferguson and his side drew 1-1 at the weekend against bottom side Cowdenbeath. That continued a recent dip in form, with only 1 win in the last 6.

Brown commented from the game, “It was a performance full of determination and spirit. I think we should have won come the end of it. It’s still in our own hands and we’re still in the mix”. The Warriors manager referring to the play-off race, where Stenhousemuir now sit 5th, one place outside but with a couple of games in hand.

They also travel to Edinburgh City on Saturday. Mark McGuigan found the net at the weekend and has been doing so regularly throughout the season. McGuigan has 20 league goals for the league campaign.

Admission

Usual home prices apply for this game of £12 for adults and £7 for concessions. Under 16’s, as usual, will be allowed free entry when accompanied by a paying adult.

Officials

Craig Napier is in charge for this one. Ralph Gordon and Daniel Graves will be the assistants running the line.

The Red Lion pub on Berwick high street will welcome both home and away supporters prior to the game for food and drink. The Red Lion are sponsors of Berwick Rangers TV and highlights will be available after the match.

Remember that the “Bar with no name” will be open prior to the game to quench your thirst!

We hope to see as many of you at the game as possible as we look to secure our league status. Come on the ‘Gers!
