Match Preview : Annan Athletic v Berwick Rangers – Ladbrokes League Two

Fresh from the exciting 2-2 draw against Elgin City on Tuesday, Robbie and the boys travel to Galabank tomorrow to take on Peter Murphy’s Annan Athletic, with the game kicking off at 3pm.

The sides are very familiar with one another having already met four times this season, with a mixed bag of results.

Annan have triumphed on two occasions in the league at Shielfield this season and the previous encounter at Galabank ended in a 0-0 stalemate. However, the ‘Gers did progress with a 1-0 victory in the Scottish Cup back in October.

Berwick News

Manager Horn has a couple of niggles from Tuesday night but is hoping that everyone will have recovered in time. Horn is hoping for more of the same as the players showed real character to come back twice.

The same effort will be required on Saturday to get a result. Aaron Murrell, Ouzy See and Steven Thompson will all be pushing for starts having earned the praise of the manager in the Elgin game for their positive impact from the bench.

The result against Elgin helped to increase the gap to bottom side Cowdenbeath.

Annan News

Annan currently sit in 7th place in the League Two table and will be needing a victory to keep any fading play-off hopes alive.

Peter Murphy’s side lost 1-0 away at title chasing Peterhead in their last league outing with defender Peter Watson sent off. Annan were very much in that game until a late goal sealed it for Peterhead.

Murphy can call on a reliable striker force for the weekend with forward pairing Aidan Smith and former Ger, Blair Henderson both hitting the net 10 times in the 2017/18 league campaign.
