Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Peterhead FC – Ladbrokes League Two

Midweek football returns to Shielfield Park tomorrow night as the ‘Gers welcome Jim McInally and his Peterhead side to town for a 7.45pm kick-off.

Berwick will be looking to build on the encouraging victory away at Cowdenbeath on Saturday, where first goals for the club from Jack Hamilton, Ouzy See and a screamer from Steven Thompson saw us home.

This is the re-arranged fixture from the postponed match in the middle of December when the cold snap ensured that the game was cancelled.

The Blue Toon are currently 2nd in the table with three games in hand over Montrose and will currently be favourites for the title. They also have the largest goal difference in the division and have won four out of their last five.

However, they are reeling from a surprise defeat at Clyde in the last game and also drew a blank in the previous league encounter between the two sides this season, when Berwick produced arguably their performance of the season in a 0-2 away victory.

Berwick News

Robbie Horn will more than likely stick with his goalscoring strikeforce and home supporters will be looking forward to seeing a natural front two for the first time in a while.

Alex Petkov will also be looking to build on an impressive debut at the weekend. Horn is further buoyed by the return from suspension of captain Stevie Notman and leading goalscorer Micheal McKenna. Selection headaches!

Robert Wilson and Kevin McKinlay remain sidelined with injury.

Peterhead News

Jim McInally, manager of the month for December, will be looking to put the Clyde defeat behind his title chasing side as soon as possible.

Rory McAllister is currently the third highest scorer in the division with 16 league goals and also has 5 assists.
