Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Clyde FC – Ladbrokes League Two

Shielfield Park welcomes its first home game of 2019 on Saturday as in-form Danny Lennon and his Clyde side arrive for a 3pm Ladbrokes League Two fixture.

The game pits two teams with contrasting recent form against one another as Berwick will be looking for their first league victory since November.

Supporters of both sides will be hoping for an encounter like the recent clash in December between the sides, when a six goal thriller resulted in the spoils being shared.

Johnny Harvey has commented that he is looking for a reaction to the defeat at Cowdenbeath last weekend.

History

This will be the 36th league meeting between the sides in Berwick. Berwick currently have 11 wins to 14 of Clyde at Shielfield Park. A home goal on Saturday will be the 50th league goal against The Bully Wee in history in Berwick.

Berwick News

Harvey has advised that he is working extremely hard to bring new faces to the club during the January window. Some positive selection news is that Daryl Healy, Paul Willis and Sean Murphy have all resumed full training and will come into contention. Aiden Mcllduff  and Matthew Know also got some game time in a friendly on Tuesday so could be involved. Euan Valentine who joined today (Friday) on loan from Raith Rovers is also expected to be in the squad for the game.

Ouzy See has had a slight knock in his recovery and will be unavailable, but is expected to gradually continue his comeback in the coming weeks.
Declan O’Kane is out injured, Ross Brown is suspended and Chris Hamilton has returned to parent club Hearts.

Clyde FC News

Clyde arrive unbeaten in their last 9 league outings and this recent run has got them involved in the Ladbrokes League Two title race as things hot up.

David Goodwillie remains the main source of goals, with 9 league strikes to date in this campaign. He was the top scorer in the division last season with 25 goals.

Karim Belmokhtar is currently unavailable after failing to report for duty post Christmas.
