The ‘Gers return to Shielfield Park tomorrow for a Ladbrokes League Two encounter against Albion Rovers, kick off 3pm.
The Wee Rovers travel to take on Berwick with new manager Kevin Harper freshly in the hot-seat with new managers being a theme of the last few Berwick matches.
Johnny Harvey and the lads will be looking to build on the fantastic away win at Elgin City last weekend. The home side will also be buoyed by the fact that the previous game between the sides this season ended in the other outstanding result from the 2018/19 campaign thus far, with the ‘Gers triumphing 3-5 in a rollercoaster performance.
The game is a proverbial 6 pointer with the sides currently 10th and 9th in the table respectively.
Harvey and the lads will also take comfort from a respectable record against Saturday’s opponents down the years at Shielfield.
Of the previous 65 home matches Berwick have been victorious on 30 occasions, only losing 17 and hitting the net 112 times to Albion’s 81.
Harvey will be looking to make it consecutive wins for the first time this season. Chris Hamilton misses the game as he is away with the Scotland under 19 squad. John Neill is back from suspension. Robert Wilson will return next weekend. Harvey also commented that he may look to include one or two triallists again after the success of the Elgin game.
