Graham Taylor extends his Shielfield stay
Following on from the club’s emphatic victory against Vale of Leithen this afternoon, Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm that midfielder Graham Taylor has agreed new terms with the club and will remain at Shielfield Park until at least Summer 2023.
The midfielder, who joined from SPFL side Cowdenbeath in the Summer, has been impressive out on the right flank in his maiden season with the club, and has already racked up 16 appearances and 7 goals for the club.
All of Taylor’s goals have been of measurable impact for the ‘Gers, with his each of his seven strikes coming in fixtures where the ‘Gers have been victorious. Those goals came against East Stirlingshire, Stirling University where he’d net twice, Broomhill and Cumbernauld Colts respectively; before abrace in today’s record-breaking 11-0 win – where he’d also scoop the sponsor’s Man of the Match award.
The winger will now look to build on a promising start to life with the Dream Team and continue delivering performances that help the Borderers collect points, helping to push the club to the next level as Stuart Malcolm begins to plan out how he’ll build on his work so far this season and continue the club’s progression in the 2022/23 campaign.
And after the midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal, Malcolm shared: “We are delighted to secure Graham’s services for another year. He was someone I was very keen to bring to the club, and I originally tried to tie him up on a two-year deal. Living in Stirling, he would only commit for one season.
“Graham can see the direction the club is moving in and after his performances and contribution to the team, we were keen to revisit the situation as soon as possible. We are delighted he will be part of it next season.”
All at the club would like to congratulate Graham on his new deal and look forward to seeing more of him in Black and Gold.
