‘Gers add McGrath in loan deal

Berwick Rangers are pleased to confirm the addition of 20 year-old striker Kieran McGrath who joins in a loan deal from Clyde today.

The striker graduated from the Celtic youth system and spent time on loan at East Kilbride with ‘Gers boss Stuart Malcolm, where he’d pick up experience of men’s football back in 2019 before returning to the South Lanarkshire club in early 2021 following a spell in Iceland with Grottu upon his departure from The Hoops.

After the Lowland League campaign came to a premature halt, Kieran would actually finish last season on loan with SPFL League One side Peterhead before signing a two-year deal with fellow League One side Clyde over the summer.

A direct forward, McGrath enjoys getting in behind defences and describes himself as a pacey striker. Boss Stuart Malcolm will be hoping Kieran can add firepower and a different option to a ‘Gers frontline which scored three for the first time this season during Saturday afternoon’s 3-1 victory over Stirling University.

The club would like to welcome Kieran and look forward to seeing him in action. Kieran will be available for tomorrow’s visit to Broomhill.
