First sponsor for Women’s & Girls Programme

Tyne & Tweed Mortgage and Investment Services have been unveiled as the first sponsor of the club’s newly-launched Women’s & Girls Programme.

Although the Women’s & Girls Programme has yet to formally launch due to current restrictions, the sponsorship will go towards initial set-up costs for training equipment, including balls, bibs and cones.

It will also ensure that Technical Director Tracy Donachie and Head of Women’s & Girls Football Andy Thorpe are suitably equipped upon the start of the programme, with the duo currently finalising a plan for a series of taster events in the coming months with the target being setting up competitive squads for the 2021/22 season.

Speaking about his sponsorship, Stuart Brown, Partner at Tyne & Tweed Mortgage and Investment Services, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to be involved in supporting this initiative and look forward to watching women’s and girls football grow at Berwick Rangers.”

Andy Thorpe, Head of Women’s & Girls Football, added:

“Obviously starting anything from scratch is tough and getting people to buy into the vision to support us financially is always challenging, especially in the current climate.

“But I think what is happening at the club, with the Juniors reconnecting, the launch of the Foundation and also the Women’s & Girls Programme, shows that Berwick Rangers is becoming an attractive proposition for sponsors and, in this instance, we can’t thank Stuart enough for his support.”
