First clean sheet in league brings 3 points home from Cowdenbeath

Central Park was a happy hunting ground again yesterday as Rangers took the spoils in a hard fought game against Cowdenbeath.

Aaron Murrell successfully headed Berwick in front in the 18th minute and in the second half Berwick fought more of a rearguard action as Cowdenbeath searched for the equaliser. Darren Lavery and Callum Donaldson came off injured in the first and second half respectively replaced by Keiran Stewart and Andrew Irving while Greg Rutherford replaced Aaron Murrel in the 71st minute as Berwick held on for the win.

Next up Berwick face Queen of the South in the second round of the Irn Cup on Saturday, September 2nd at 3pm.
