The draw for the 2016/17 East of Scotland Cup semi-finals was made earlier today, with Berwick a side in the draw.

Berwick had automatically qualified for the final in recent years, however the introduction of Edinburgh City to the senior ranks has meant that the ‘Gers have returned to entering the cup at the semi-final round.

The ‘Gers have however managed to avoid a 5th clash of the season with their Edinburgh rivals instead being drawn against Spartans.

John Coughlin’s side meanwhile face a trip to either Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale or Hawick Royal Albert after being drawn away.

Berwick have of course already taken on Hawick once this season, the opposition shocking the ‘Gers at Shielfield Park in Scottish Cup action.
