Club confirms new Physio

Following an advert posted on the club’s social media channels last weekend, the club is delighted to confirm it has filled the vacant position of Physiotherapist ahead of Saturday’s Lowland League opener against Vale of Leithen at Shielfield Park.

We’d like to welcome Macauley Kenney to the ‘Gers, a qualified and highly experienced Sport Therapist who has worked for a number of clubs in the Scottish Professional Football League.

Macauley has visited Shielfield Park before while working as Head of Medical & Sports Science at Edinburgh City FC, combining that with a role at Dundee FC’s reserve team before being approached by ex-Scotland Assistant Manager Peter Grant to work at Alloa Athletic.

Following a season as Head of Sport Therapy & Football Science at the Indodrill Stadium, Macauley moved to Sweden to work for Ytterhogdal IK, but now back in Scotland, he’s looking forward to getting started with the ‘Gers.

He said: “I used to enjoy my frequent visits to Berwick when I was working at Edinburgh City and, now that I’m here, I’m looking forward to meeting the squad and hopefully I can play a part in helping the club get back to where they belong in the SPFL.”
