Chris McDonald available for transfer
Berwick Rangers have today made defender/midfielder Chris McDonald available for transfer following the player revealing his intention to leave the club in January after the match against Clyde last month. Chris played in the next two games and before the Stirling game confirmed his wish to leave before the club allowed him to participate in a weeks trial with an English League Two club. At this crucial stage of the season it is vital we have a squad that is 100% focused and committed to Berwick Rangers.
Manager Robbie Horn revealed he attempted to make the player stay: “I’m disappointed at Chris’ decision to leave the club but I fully understand his situation. He’s a great wee guy with a good attitude and he will be missed. Chris was finding the travelling difficult and though we offered the opportunity to go back to training once a week he also stated that finding full time employment was a priority for him. There is also travelling to away games like Peterhead, Elgin and Montrose which are incredibly long days for him. We wish him all the best for the future and he is welcome back at the club anytime.”
McDonald has been a stand out performer this season, winning supporters Man of the Match six times in just 23 appearances.
