Brown will play in Black & Gold next season!
Berwick Rangers manager Thomas Scobbie has acted quickly to secure the signature of 20 year-old attacker Jack Brown.
Brown arrives at Shielfield Park having impressed at Kelty Hearts Under 20s last season – and Berwick fans will already have seen what he is capable of, as Brown has featured as a trialist in the opening two preseason matches. Most notably, Jack came off the bench in last weekend’s Paul Hampshire Memorial Trophy match against Dunbar United. He slotted home coolly to equalise for Berwick after a terrific run by Lewis Barr, and then turned provider for Liam Buchanan’s winner.
Like all Berwick fans, ‘Gers gaffer Scobbie is hoping for more of the same after Jack’s promising start in the team. Scobbie added, ‘I’m really happy to have Jack join the club. He is a young player who has really impressed in preseason, especially as he is making the step up from Under 20s football. He is a direct and pacey player, offering us something different in attack. His raw talent is very exciting, and all of the coaches are looking forward to developing him further.’
Jack Brown will continue to feature in the club’s preseason campaign – now as a signed player rather than a trialist. Berwick play Haddington this Saturday (13 July), before closing preseason at home to Morpeth Town on 20 July. Both are 3pm kick offs at Shielfield Park. The club has also launched match sponsorship packages for the newly released Park’s Motor Group Lowland League fixtures, and these are selling well – so head to the club shop now to secure your matchday sponsorship for the season ahead.
