Berwick add Sean Stewart for new campaign
Berwick Rangers boss Ian Little has continued to shape his squad for the 2021-22 campaign after today confirming the addition of versatile forward Sean Stewart on a one-year deal.
Equally adept at playing up top as he is out wide, Sean will join the club from Penicuik Athletic this Summer having signed pre-contact terms at Shielfield Park, where he has been since 2019.
Much like fellow new addition Scott-Taylor MacKenzie, Sean also brings with him experience of playing and netting regularly in the Lowland League too, where he was previously with Vale of Leithen. He was also part of the Penicuik side that emphatically dispatched of Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Cup back in 2019, netting the third and final goal in a 3-0 victory.
Having secured his man for the new season, Ian Little said: “I’m delighted to agree a pre-contract with Sean as he’s a player in demand and had a few good offers from elsewhere for next season.
“He’s a player who will give us more options in forward areas through his pace and direct running. He’s got an eye for goal and I think he’ll be a great addition to the squad.”
The addition of Sean takes the club up to 15 signed players for the new campaign, with Dougie Horne, Andy McNeil, Craig Reid, David Ferguson, Jack Cook, John Ward, Kieran Somerville, Jordan Sinclair, Lewis Barr, Jack Wright, Grant Nelson, Ciaran Heeps, Scott-Taylor MacKenzie and Lewis Allan all committed to the black and gold army next campaign.
The club will continue to update fans regarding further playing squad movements as and when news breaks.
