Antell keeping at Shielfield!

Goalkeeper Calum Antell has committed to Berwick for another two seasons, and becomes the latest player to sign for the 2024/25 campaign!

The popular thirty-one year old Welshman has provided a solid and consistent presence at the back for the ‘Gers across the last two seasons, making 70 appearances in total. This year, Calum has featured 32 times, and put in a number of superb performances – particularly in a run of four consecutive clean sheets in January and February which saw the club register four straight wins.

Antell joins a growing number of players who have already joined the squad for next season. Alongside Calum, the club has also signed Thomas Kay, Callum Mackay, Grant Nelson, Lewis Barr, Liam Buchanan, Alex Harris, Jamie McCormack, Kane O’Connor, and Arran Laidlaw.

‘Gers manager Thomas Scobbie was delighted to agree terms with Antell, saying, ‘Calum is an integral part of the squad, and I believe that he is without doubt the best goalkeeper in the Lowland League. Calum had other options for next season, but we spoke about how much he is enjoying his time here, and how Calum can see what we are trying to build at the club – for next season and beyond.’

Antell’s most recent appearance was in the excellent 4-1 away win at Cowdenbeath on Saturday, and Berwick fans have three more opportunities to catch the team at Shielfield Park before the season is over – starting this weekend against Caledonian Braves.
