Orru returns

Defender Jordan Orru has penned a new deal which will see him remain at Shielfield Park for the 2018/19 season.

Orru, who originally joined the club’s Under 20 squad, has made 37 appearances for the ‘Gers and scored one goal. The left back enjoyed a fantastic second half of the season in 2017/18, racking up a number of social media Man of the Match awards as he quickly became a fans’ favourite.

At just 20 years old, Orru believes he can build on the momentum he gained throughout the later months of the season: “I’m delighted to get my new deal sorted and be here for next season. Hopefully we get a good preseason, start the season well and see where that takes us. I think we were unlucky a lot of times last year so hopefully we can turn some of the draws/defeats in to wins this season. Personally, I hope to build on the end of the last season, keep improving as a player and try to cement my place in the gaffer’s team for the season.”
