McKirdy joins the ‘Gers!
Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm the addition of teenage midfielder Sean McKirdy, who joins in an emergency loan deal from Hamilton Academical until 20th May.
The 18 year old made six appearances at Heart of Midlothian before surprisingly being released at the end of the last campaign. Hamilton boss Marting Canning then moved to snap him up in a one-year deal amongst interest from other Scottish Premier League clubs.
The 5ft7′ midfielder, who was also with Hutchison Vale as a youngster becomes yet another ‘Gers player on the books with international youth experience, having been capped at Under 15, 16 and 17 levels for Scotland.
The youngster has been a regular in the Accies’ Under 20 side, where he has played alongside another ‘Gers loanee in the form of Jordan McGregor.
McKirdy may make his debut for the club tomorrow afternoon, when the ‘Gers take on league leaders Forfar Athletic in League Two action.
The club would like to welcome Sean to Shielfield Park, and look forward to seeing him don the Black and Gold!
