Match Preview: Stirling Albion vs Berwick Rangers – SPFL Development League
Berwick resume their Ladbrokes League Two campaign tomorrow, travelling to Forthbank Stadium after an enforced international break. Berwick will enjoy another break from league duty next weekend due to their involvement in the Scottish Cup, but boss John Coughlin will be keen his players have their eye on the ball in Stirling before thinking about cup progression.
Berwick Rangers Team News:
Coughlin would have hoped the fortnight break would have helped one or two of his squad members to regain fitness, but whilst Brian Martin returns and a number have had the chance to recover from very minor knocks and niggles, things look quite similar for Berwick heading into this one.
Sean Mackie and former Bino Lee Hamilton remain sidelined with their injuries, though Kevin McKinlay will face off against his former side for the first time since leaving them in the Summer. Michael McKenna begins his two game ban after seeing red in our last outing.
Coughlin would have been boosted by the return of Hibernian loanee Ben Stirling, but his involvement in Hibernian’s Development Team on Thursday evening will mean he is not leave him ineligible to feature.
Stirling Albion Team News:
Martyn Corrigan will be in charge of the Binos as they seek to improve on a start of the season which was so underwhelming that the home side’s now former boss Stuart McLaren opted to resign from his post a couple of weeks back.
Former ‘Ger Blair Henderson will come up against his former teammates for the first time since joining Stirling.
Corrigan will be without Ross Forsyth, with the full back ruled out with a knee injury. Bryan Hodge is also unlikely to make it as he battles with his groin, though young winger Moses Olanrewaju may feature after a spell on the sidelines.
Aurelien Mazel announced his retirement from football this week after an unsuccessful battle with injury so far this season.
