SPFL Development League Fixtures Announced
The SPFL have confirmed fixtures for the 2015/2016 Development League East, in which a youthful ‘Gers side will once again feature.
Despite some impressive results, the Dream Team’s next generation had to settle for dodging the wooden spoon last campaign, winning six, drawing six and losing twelve matches through the season as they finished 8th.
However, two teams (Cowdenbeath and Livingston) have since withdrawn from the league, leaving it compiled of seven teams.
The ‘Gers will kick off their season the week of 31st August, when they travel to Alloa Athletic – the very side Berwick’s first team will clash with this weekend in League Cup action.
A free week follows, meaning the ‘Gers first Development League action at Shielfield Park will not take place until the week of the 14th September, when they’ll host East Stirlingshire’s U20s.
Teams will play each other three times throughout the season, with the ‘Gers scheduled to end their campaign in the week of the 21st of March as they welcome Stirling Albion at Shielfield Park.
A full listing of our Development League fixtures can be found on the U20’s Fixture Page.
Admission details for Development League ties will be released closer to the beginning of the season.
