Welcome Ryan Turner!

We are delighted to announce that talented left-back Ryan Turner has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Berwick Rangers for the 2026/7 season!

The 21 year-old will arrive at MKM Shielfield Park after an excellent season with Newtongrange Star in the East of Scotland Premier Division. Ryan picked up the Supporters’ Player of the Year award at New Victoria Park, as Nitten finished 11th on their return to the EoS top tier. Despite his young age, Ryan has racked up 50 appearances at Newtongrange, along with over 100 for Arniston Rangers previously.

‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes is looking forward to working with his new signing, saying, ‘Ryan Turner is a player who’s been on our radar for the last couple of seasons. He’s developed really well during his time at Newtongrange and we believe he’s now ready to make the step up to the Lowland League. He’s a left-back who enjoys contributing going forward, with the physical attributes and running power to impact both sides of the game. His technique is strong, and he possesses an excellent left foot, delivering real quality from wide areas as well as being a threat from set pieces.’

The manager continued, ‘After carrying out our background work on Ryan, we feel he’s the type of character who will fit seamlessly into our squad and environment. He’s got the tools to make an immediate impact, and we’re confident he’ll continue to develop further as a footballer.’

Everyone at Berwick Rangers extends a warm welcome to Ryan as he prepares to join the club. He will link up with his new teammates in June once his contract at Newtongrange has expired.
