Hendry extends contract!
Hendry extends contract!
Berwick Rangers are pleased to announce that striker Taylor Hendry will be back for the 2026/7 season, as the club and Taylor have agreed a contract extension.
The 30 year old signed for the ‘Gers last season after a prolific stint at Dunbar United. In his first Lowland League season, Taylor scored 9 goals and had 6 assists, from 22 starts. These goals included a late equaliser against East Stirlingshire early in the year, and a memorable winner against Gretna 2008 in November as the ‘Gers came from 2-0 down to win 3-2. Hendry’s 15 goal involvements were the most of any player last season, just ahead of strike partner Greg Binnie (14) and loanee Harry Wright (13).
Berwick manager Kevin Haynes said, ‘It’s great to have Taylor signed up for another season. He’s a huge part of the dressing room, gets on well with everyone, and is one of the lads who really helps keep the group together. As one of the more experienced players, he’s someone others can speak to and lean on if required. He also plays an important role in what is a strong striking unit, alongside Danny Handling and Greg Binnie. We’re really excited to be working with him again, and I’m sure the supporters will continue to appreciate everything he brings to the team. Taylor will be aiming to add more goals to his game this season, and we’re confident he can do just that.’
Berwick fans will get their first chance to get reacquainted with Taylor and the rest of the ‘Gers squad in July, with five home preseason friendlies just announced. We start on Saturday 4 July against Blyth Spartans, before hosting a Falkirk XI (7 July), Ashington AFC (11 July), Stobswood Welfare (14 July) and Newcastle Benfield (18 July).
Everyone at the club extends thanks to Taylor’s sponsor, Elite Driver Services.
