Robinson returns!
Robinson returns!
We are delighted to announce that defender Alfie Robinson has agreed a contract extension for the 2026/7 season.
The 23 year-old has made 65 appearances for the ‘Gers across the past two seasons, and scored 6 goals. He won multiple end of season awards at the end of the 2024/5 campaign, and made 30 appearances last season – despite spending time out injured early in the year. Playing at both centre back and right back, Robinson has impressed with his physicality, ability to read the game, and standout character both on and off the pitch.
‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes said, ‘It’s great news to have Alfie commit to another year with the club. As many will know, he travels a long way to play for Berwick Rangers, so the fact he’s chosen to stay, despite having options closer to home shows how much he believes in this squad and what we’re building here. He formed an excellent partnership with Callum McKay over the final dozen games of last season, with some outstanding performances both individually and as part of a strong defensive unit. For someone still young, Alfie already has a lot of experience at this level, and I’m confident there’s even more to come from him as he continues to develop.’
As alluded to by the manager, Alfie will rejoin a number of his defensive colleagues back at MKM Shielfield Park next season – Callum Mackay, Mark McConnell, Jamie Pyper and Struan Mair will all be returning as well as Robinson.
We would like to thank Alfie’s sponsors, the Purvis family and Joshua Kidd, for their continued support of the club.
