Harris signs on for the ‘Gers
The club is happy to announce that it has agreed terms with former Hibernian winger Alex Harris, who has joined on a two-year deal – with the option of a third.
Harris, 26, made his first-team debut for Hibs in 2012 and played 60 times for the Edinburgh club in five seasons, with 26 of those appearances in the Scottish Premier League.
During his time at Hibs, Harris also enjoyed a loan spell at Dundee – then in Scottish Premier League – in the 2014/15 season, playing 16 times. In the following season, he was loaned out to Scottish Championship outfit Queen of the South, where he played 27 times in all competitions.
Upon the expiry of his contract with Hibs in the summer of 2017, Harris joined Falkirk for a season, playing 29 times in all competitions. He then moved south of the border for the 2018/19 season, playing 28 times in all competitions for National League North side York City.
In June 2019, Harris signed for Edinburgh City and, in two seasons with the Scottish League Two side, has played 37 times, scoring six goals.
Speaking about the capture of Harris, manager Stuart Malcolm said: “Alex is a very talented, exciting player and I’m very happy that we’ve been able to bring him here to Shielfield Park.
“With 60 appearances for Hibs and over 40 games played in the Scottish Premier League, it’s clear that Alex is a player of real quality and, importantly, he has a lot of experience, and I’m sure the fans will be looking forward to seeing in action.”
Supporters could catch a first glimpse of the new man in friendly action later this month, with the Dream Team set to play host to Heart of Midlothian on Friday 25th June.
Hospitality places, priced at £30pp, are still available for the game and more can be found out about them via Craig Forsyth on craig@berwickrangers.com.
Supporters hoping to attend the fixture are advised to sign up to Fanbase now, with the platform set to be used for ticketing.
