McNeil returns to Airdrieonians in loan deal

Goalkeeper Andy McNeil has returned to his former club Airdrieonians until the end of the 2020/21 campaign after terms were agreed on a loan deal.

The Diamonds are scheduled to return to competitive action this weekend with a trip to Peterhead in League One, and Andy will be immediately available if called upon by boss Ian Murray.

A promising young player, McNeil is now contracted at Shielfield Park until summer 2022 and joins Dougie Horne, Craig Reid, David Ferguson, Jack Cook, John Ward, Jordan Sinclair, Lewis Barr, Jack Wright, Ciaran Heeps, Scott-Taylor MacKenzie and Lewis Allan as signed players for next campaign.

Andy, who is sponsored by ‘Gers supporter and Berwick Rangers Supporters’ Club secretary Brian Parkin, will now be looking to push on and pressure ‘Gers current number one Dougie Horne for his position and begin to pick up more regular playing time.

The club would like to wish Andy all the best during his loan spell with Airdrieonians and look forward to welcoming him back to Shielfield Park on the return of football for the ‘Gers.
