Jack Cook signs new deal for 2020/21 season
Defender Jack Cook has put pen to paper on a new contract for the 2020/21 season.
The 22-year-old becomes the ninth player to make-up the ‘Gers squad for the upcoming campaign and he joins Sam Daniel, Ali Forster and Kevin Waugh in the defensive ranks.
Cook, who is a former youth player at Livingston, is one of the longest serving players at Shielfield Park. Originally on trial in the pre-season of 2016/17, he departed for a spell in the USA before returning to Scotland and joining the club in January 2017.
A key member of the club’s Development Team, he soon progressed through to the First Team, making seven appearances in the second half of the 2017/18 League Two campaign before featuring 40 times across all competitions in 2018/19.
Speaking about Cook’s return, Manager Ian Little said: “Both Kevin and myself have spoken about the importance of building a strong core of players at the club and, with the re-signing of Jack, we feel as though we’re continuing to do that.
“Despite being only 22, Jack has good experience but also a lot of potential to continue improving and we’re delighted he has chosen to sign on again for the 2020/21 season.”
