Jones joins from Dundee United
The club is pleased to announce the signing of teenage attacking midfielder Alassan Jones, who joins on loan from Dundee United for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.
The Swedish-born, Edinburgh-based prospect, 18, has been at The Terrors since 2017 after signing from Edinburgh junior side Tynecastle FC and has spent the first half of this season on loan at Broughty Athletic Junior Football Club, who play in the East Region Super League.
A highly-rated youngster, having been part of three Scottish FA Youth Cup victories – the first two with Edina Hibs and the latter with Tynecastle FC – Dundee United hope Jones can further his development at Berwick Rangers.
Speaking about the signing of Jones, who goes straight into the squad for this weekend’s Lowland League clash against East Stirlingshire at Shielfield Park, manager Ian Little said:
“We’re hopeful that Alassan can add a lot to our small, youthful squad. He was recommended to us and, having watched him in action at training on Tuesday night, we feel we have a player of good technical ability with an attacking drive on our hands, giving us another threat going forward.”
