Brydon is back
Berwick Rangers can today confirm the signing of defender Dougie Brydon, who returns to the ‘Gers for a second spell at the club.
Brydon was a stand out figure for the ‘Gers during the 2012/13, registering 30 appearances in the side that secured a play-off place at Ibrox on the final day of the season. After leaving the club, Brydon has kept active, playing for a number of clubs in the Borders.
Manager Johnny Harvey is glad to have secured the services of the defender: “I’m delighted to be able to welcome Dougie Brydon back to our club. He was an excellent player for Berwick Rangers in his first spell and attracted attention from various full-time clubs. Work commitments and a young family have proved a barrier to senior football in recent seasons, but we are delighted he’s now in a position to re-join the club.
He is a player who wears his heart on his sleeve and epitomises everything I highlighted in my statement last week. He is a team player who will put the team before himself. I’m excited to get him back playing in the SPFL, and I’m sure the fans will look forward to cheering on a Berwickshire lad.”
Brydon is set to train with the squad this week and will be available for selection this weekend as Stirling Albion travel to Shielfield Park.
