Stuart Markland
It was with sadness we heard of the passing of ex player Stuart Markland (69) last weekend. Stuart lived in the Edinburgh area and had not been well for some time and confined to a wheelchair. Fans will recall a year or two ago after a fund raising venture he was presented with an electric wheelchair at a function in Berwick Guildhall. Stuart featured in our team just after the 1967 Rangers win as a forward but went on to make his name as a centre half/full back at Dundee United and a full back at Montrose before moving to Australia where he played in Sydney with Alan Ainslie. Stuart also played in Mexico and in Europe. Our sincere condolences to all Stuart’s family.
The Funeral service and cremation is on Tuesday 18th April at 11.30 am at Mortonhall Crematorium in Edinburgh.
