📝 | Aaron Murrell joins on Development terms

Murrell will go straight into John Coughlin’s squad for tomorrow’s clash with Montrose

Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm the addition of Dundee United forward Aaron Murrell on a development loan until the end of the season.

Murrell has been with Cowdenbeath this season but has found gametime hard to come by under Liam Fox having make only 5 appearances with The Blue Brazil. With his loan expiring earlier this month boss John Coughlin has moved quickly to seal Aaron’s signature.

The young striker hit the headlines in the 15/16 campaign having netted an impressive 24 goals in 22 games as an 18 year old at Lowland League side Spartans FC.

The Arabs had to ward off interest from a number of clubs in order to seal his signature, the striker having trained with Hibernian and been watched by Hearts, Rangers and a number of other Scottish Premiership sides.

Boss Coughlin will now be hoping that regular football will see the young prospect recapture goalscoring form and help fire the ‘Gers up the table and closer to the promotion play-offs in the second half of the campaign.

Aaron becomes the second signing of the day, following the addition of versatile full-back Euan Spark from Dunfermline Athletic in a standard loan deal, which will see him join Murrell at Shielfield until May.

The club would like to welcome Aaron to the club and look forward to seeing him don Black & Gold for the first time – something he may do tomorrow when the ‘Gers travel to Montrose in League Two action.
