Women’s Champions at Shielfield Park this weekend
The club are delighted to confirm that it will host Scottish Women’s Champions Glasgow City this Saturday (1st February).
Glasgow’s U19 side will host Ponteland United Ladies in a 12pm kick-off on the first-team pitch, an exercise that Berwick Rangers hopes will grow the profile of the Women’s game in the local area.
As well as the best in Scotland, City are currently gearing up for a UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final clash with VfL Wolfsburg Fanbetreuung in March.
Entry for the clash will be free as the club continues to explore how it can introduce and encourage new games of interest, with a girls and women’s programme one of the options it is currently exploring.
Berwick Rangers would like to note their thanks to Kevin Dixon and his committee at Tweedmouth Rangers FC for accommodating the fixture by adjusting the kick-off time of their East of Scotland workout against Dunipace FC on Old Shielfield later that afternoon. Admission for that one is £3 for Adults, and free for children entering with a paying adult.
We hope to see plenty around Shielfield Park on the day!
