Under20s return to League action against Raith Rovers

The Under 20s end their long break from competitive fixtures in the Development League East with a trip up to Glenrothes on Tuesday evening to face top of the table Raith Rovers.

This is their first league game since November 27th due to the postponement of the early December game against Cowdenbeath followed by the league’s Winter break and then the planned match against Alloa on January 30th clashing with a rearranged first team fixture causing another postponement.

The team have undertaken some friendly games over the period however as well as the squad members being involved at weekends with their respective loan clubs.

Team News for tomorrow night:

We will be missing Calum Heath who has started his rehab programme after knee surgery and also Scott Sutherland who has suspected ACL damage following the friendly with Blackburn United last midweek.

U20 Head Coach Derek McKenzie said “we travel to Glenrothes to play Raith tomorrow night in good spirits. We had yet another successful weekend for our players out on loan with Grant Rose scoring twice in the Lowland League for Gala and Bradley Barrett netting for Whitehill. The reports on the other players out were encouraging with the vast majority getting 90 mins.”

“We know what to expect from Raith, they are a good team who have the luxury of training every day. We have gave them good games in the previous two meetings this season and had our finishing been better may of taken something out of the game at Shielfield. I’m now really looking for us to kick on and go that wee bit further and hopefully we can get a positive result.”

Kick off is 8.00pm and the venue has been switched from Starks Park to the Michael Woods Sports and Leisure Centre in Glenrothes.
