Three ‘Gers Pen New Deals

Berwick Rangers’ club captain Jonny Fairbairn has penned a new two year deal, which will see him remain at the club until 2018.

The centre half made 35 appearances in 2015-2016, and will now almost certainly go on to make his 100th apperance for the club in the next season.

And the club are delighted that Jonny will be joined at Shielfield Park next season by both Kevin Walker and Graeme Beveridge, who have both signed one year deals.

Stopper Walker appeared on 37 occasions for the ‘Gers in what was his first season in senior football, and enjoyed an incredible end to his season, the young ‘keeper producing some incredible saves to record 8 clean sheets in their final 11 league games.

Beveridge meanwhile also enjoyed a run in the defence of the side which played with such defensive steel towards the season’s end, and will be looking to add to the 26 games he’s played for Berwick so far.

‘Gers manager John Coughlin revealed: “I’m delighted to have been able to get these three players tied up for the new season.

“With contracts expiring at the end of this month (May), I’ll be continuing discussions with some other key players and actively working to get them signed up.”
