Taylor’s swift to sign for ‘Gers!

Berwick Rangers are delighted to announce the arrival of former Dunbar United striker Taylor Hendry, as the centre forward became the latest new signing for manager Kevin Haynes – proving that it is far from a cruel summer for ‘Gers fans.

Hendry, 29, is a player that the MKM Shielfield Park faithful will know only all too well from his goalscoring exploits last season for the Seasiders, as his netted against Berwick both in preseason and in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup semi final in April. Now swapping black and white stripes for the Black and Gold, Taylor will be keen to prove he’s no longer an anti-hero – and with 51 goals in 2 seasons at Dunbar, he’ll be hoping to carry on his goalscoring form for the ‘Gers.

There certainly isn’t any bad blood between Hendry and his new/old gaffer Kevin Haynes, with the Berwick manager saying, ‘I’m really pleased to bring Taylor Hendry to the club. He’s a player we’ve had our eye on for a while – he’s got real quality on the ball, and is a natural goalscorer.’

Haynes went on to describe the assets the former Ipswich Town and Hibernian youth will bring to the squad, ‘Having worked with him previously, I know what Taylor brings to the dressing room as well as on the pitch. I believe he’ll thrive in our environment and contribute massively. I’m looking forward to working with him again – this time in a Berwick shirt.’

Will Taylor prove to be the 1 for Berwick in 2025/26? We certainly hope so, and can’t wait to see him in action in preseason, along with the rest of the new signings and returning squad. Stay tuned tomorrow for our next signing announcement!
