Struan signs for next season!

Berwick Rangers are delighted to confirm that Struan Mair has agreed to a one year extension to his contract, committing the 21 year-old to the club for the 2026/7 season.

After joining in the summer from Gala Fairydean Rovers, the former Edinburgh City player has experienced a somewhat stop-start campaign due to injury, making a total of 14 starts and 2 substitute appearances. However, he has impressed at both right back and in midfield this season, and netted a memorable goal in the 2-0 win over Cowdenbeath on the opening day of the Park’s Motor Group Lowland League season.

‘Gers manager Kevin Haynes spoke about the qualities that Struan brings to the squad, ‘He is very agile, very energetic and he carries great attacking threat. He makes runs from deep and when Struan arrives in the box he is a good finisher.’ Haynes continued, saying, ‘Struan is a real asset to us, and is still young – so we hope he will be at the club for a good few years.’

Struan Mair is sponsored by Roy & Yali Douglas (home) and The Coast (away and travel). We thank these sponsors for their continued support of the club.

Finally, Struan is added to a growing list of ‘Gers players to commit for the 2026/7 season – he joins Calum Antell, Jamie Pyper, Isaac Deh, Ben McCrystal, Alex Harris, Michael Barfoot, Greg Binnie, Michael Mbewe and Danny Handling  in either agreeing a multi-year deal when signing or sorting an extension for the next campaign. We’ll have news of the next two names on that list soon, so stay tuned to club social media channels or the club website in the coming days.
