Striker Jackson Mylchreest arrives on loan

Highly-rated young striker Jackson Mylchreest has joined Berwick Rangers on loan from Saint Johnstone until the end of the season.

Mylchreest, 17, is part of the same Saint Johnstone Under-18 set up as fellow loanees Bayley Klimionek, Joe Ellison and Scott Bright, and so the forward will see some familiar faces when he links up with Thomas Scobbie’s squad. Mylchreest will be available to make his Dream Team debut on Saturday away to Cumbernauld Colts, as the Wee ‘Gers search for a first win in five games.

The young striker scored his first senior goal for his parent club in a pre-season friendly against East Fife, and also featured in the SPFL Trust Trophy for Saint Johnstone. More recently, he has spent time on loan at fellow Park’s Motor Group Lowland League club Tranent, but now arrives at Shielfield to add extra firepower up front to Berwick.

As Jackson Mylchreest comes into the club, we bid farewell to Ben Lamont, who returns to The Spartans as his loan ends. Lamont started twice for Berwick in his short loan spell, against Heart of Midlothian B and Civil Service Strollers, and also came off the bench against Tranent and Broomhill. All at Berwick Rangers would like to thank Ben for his effort while at Shielfield Park, and wish him the best for the future.
