Scottish Cup tie selected for TV coverage

Monday Night Football is coming to Shielfield Park later this month after the club received confirmation today that our Scottish Cup First Round tie against Gretna FC 2008 has been selected for television coverage.

The match will air live on BBC Scotland on Monday, September 20 and will kick-off at 7.45pm.

Berwick have already faced Gretna FC 2008 this season with the two teams battling it out for a 1-1 draw at Shielfield Park and viewers will expect a similarly competitive match this time around as both sides look to book their place in the Second Round of the competition.

Speaking about the tie’s selection for television coverage, Chairman Brian Porteous said: “We’re delighted that the BBC cameras will be coming down to Shielfield Park and it’s fantastic news for us as a club, while it will also bring some excellent exposure for our dedicated sponsors.

“I hope the team can put on a great performance under the lights that will see us through to the Second Round of the Scottish Cup, which is where the SPFL teams come into the hat.”

Hospitality will be available on the night with a package currently being put together for a three-course meal with wine, as well as the normal Shielfield Park hospitality experience, for just £40 per person.
