Sabatini signs!

Berwick Rangers are pleased to confirm the addition of Griffin Sabatini, who has put pen to paper on official terms having featured for the ‘Gers in recent fixtures against Open Goal Broomhill and East Stirlingshire.

Griffin arrived in Scotland when joining Airdrieonians on loan from Ukrainian Premier League side Dnipro-1 back in 2020. After spending the season with the Diamonds, Griffin stuck around in Scotland but didn’t sign with another side until he joined Gretna 2008 for the second half of the 21/22 campaign.

Born in Zimbabwe, the 23 year-old grew up in Switzerland and was previously with the Swiss youth sides of Meryin, Lancy and FC Vernier. A spell in the United States with NE Huskies was followed by a return to Switzerland, where the midfielder would play with FC Wohlen U23s before he’d go on to sign his first professional terms with Dnipro-1.

Having seen what the midfielder can add to the ‘Gers squad in two performances, manager Stuart Malcolm has now moved to secure his services on a more permanent basis.

All at the club would like to welcome Griffin, who will be eligible to make his official debut during this Saturday’s East of Scotland Qualifying Cup fixture away at Stoneyburn Juniors.
