Robert Wilson and Darren Lavery Extend ‘Gers Stay!

Berwick Rangers are delighted to announce that both Robert Wilson and Darren Lavery have put pen to paper on new two year deals with the club.

The pair join boss John Coughlin and midfielder Michael McKenna in committing to life at Shielfield Park until 2018. It had been previously been reported from the club that McKenna’s deal was until only 2017, however this was incorrect information.

Centre half Wilson joined the club from Musselburgh in the Summer of 2015, and after a difficult start with the club grew into his own and seems to enjoy the stability that manager John Coughlin’s 3-5-2 formation tends to bring to the side.

At just 21 years of age, Robert will now be looking to nail down a place besides the likes of Brian Martin, a player he is familiar with from his time with Musselburgh, and continue to improve.

Forward Lavery meanwhile has featured on 37 occasions in all competitions for the ‘Gers this season. A regular scorer at this level, he’s hit 52 goals for the club thus far, 12 of which have came in the current campaign.

Darren has already been with the club for five years and will be hoping the next two will allow him to add silverware to his trophy cabinet, having not yet enjoyed winning a senior competition.

Michael, Robert and Darren have shared their thoughts on re-signing with the club in interviews which will be published throughout the coming week.
