Queen’s Park (H) Preview

The ‘Gers head in to today’s tie with the opportunity to win three game on the bounce for the first time this season; although they know it will be a tough task as they go up against 2nd placed Queen’s Park.

Berwick team news:

After producing one of the strongest performances so far this season, don’t be surprised if Colin Cameron opts to keep his trust in the same starting XI this afternoon.

The gaffer himself has trained and looks fit to return for selection, and so you can most likely expect to see his name somewhere on the team sheet.

Berwick are also boosted by the return to fitness of Darren Lavery, who took part in light training. Today may come too soon for the striker, however, who requires a late fitness test.

Ross Drummond and Billy Bald are definitely ruled out, along with Steven Notman who is currently awaiting an MRI scan for a knee issue – a scan that isn’t likely to take place for 3-4 weeks yet.

Queen’s Park team news:

Queen’s Park will be looking to return to Hampden Park with all three points as manger Gus MacPherson has admitted his players are desperate to make up for last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Albion Rovers, which all but handed the Coatbridge side the league title.

The Spiders will be boosted by the return of Shaun Rooney & John Carter for the game, and look to have no other injury issues.

Boss Gus MacPherson told their official website “Our last game against Berwick was a very competitive match at Hampden and I expect the same this time round.

“I’ll be making a couple of changes to the squad to freshen things up but would still hope to take a positive result from the match.”
