Preview: East Fife v Berwick Rangers – SPFL Ladbrokes League Two

The ‘Gers travel to Methil tomorrow afternoon seeking their third consecutive win on league duty. Were the ‘Gers to return with a win, it’d be 9 points from a possible 9 on the road and three consecutive victories for the first time in the 2015/2016 campaign.

Manager John Coughlin hopes to have another new signing available to him ahead of tomorrow’s away trip, but will be without his captain Jonny Fairbairn, midfielder Finn Graham and forward Michael McKenna, all of whom find themselves suspended.

Darren Lavery will make his 150th appearance in Black and Gold. The ‘Gers top scorer had hoped to make it two milestones in 7 days after netting his 50th goal for the club, only to be denied by a late postponement.

Allan Walker could be in line for a debut in the heart of the ‘Gers midfield against his former club, but whether the manager opts to give the more match-fit and so-far impressive Dylan Stevenson to him is yet to be seen.

Young centre half Jordan McGregor may also feature in Berwick’s back line after agreeing loan terms earlier today.

Euan Bauld remains sidelined with Calum Helm who are both suffering long-term injuries, however there was positive progress for Helm this weekend as he participated in light training. The young striker is still likely to be a couple of months from a return however, all being well.

East Fife Team News:

Gary Naysmith’s side have bolstered their ranks with a double signing ahead of tomorrow’s clash.

The Fifers have today announced the loan addition of young Rangers ‘keeper and former Scotland U19 Liam Kelly on loan until the end of the season.

The signing came just hours after the club announced the capture of striker Jordan Austin, who is brother of fellow East Fife forward Nathan. Jordan had been on trial at Bayview recently after impressing with Leven United.

Two players who won’t feature however are Jordan Leyden, who has returned to Partick Thistle following a loan spell, and midfielder Kieran MacDonald, who yesterday agreed a mutual termination of his deal.

Match Odds:

Despite the ‘Gers recent away day joy, SPFL sponsors Ladbrokes see East Fife as clear favourites for the game, perhaps with August’s 5-0 demolition of Colin Cameron’s ‘Gers at Bayview in mind.

East Fife – 9/10

Draw – 14/5

Berwick Rangers – 12/5

Match Officials:

Alan Newlands will control tomorrow’s tie, and will be assisted by both John McCrossan & Dan McFarlane.

Safe journey to all travelling!
